Three-in-One Challenge Card

So I got ambitious again and made a card that satisfies the requirements of three different challenges this week.

Paper Players had a really nice sketch challenge this week.  Simple, but room for lots of fun!
The Shabby Tea Room had a butterfly challenge this week.
And finally, Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combo this week was Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, and Pretty in Pink.

When all was said and done, here is what I came up.  Happily, I now have Dazzling Diamonds glitter everywhere!  :)

Instead of using Dimensionals to adhere the butterflies, I simply used mini glue dots.

A simple sentiment that could be used for many occasions.

And for the bling....

..... just a little Dazzling Diamonds strategically placed!  Enjoy!

Thanks for looking at my blog. I appreciate all the wonderful comments everyone leaves. Happy Stamping!

I couldn't help myself!

So after making my Friday challenge card, this color combination really started to grow on me.  I since I already had pieces of cardstock and Designer Series Paper cut, I just had to use them.

Next up, another three-in-one challenge card!

Friday Mash Up Card Entry

Hello everyone.  It's been a rather stressful week around here.  We're still waiting to hear if my husband has been selected for a promotion, which involves another transfer.  I've been battling wicked allergy sinus problems, and I am just SOOOO ready for this week to be over.  So to de-stress, I made myself do some stamping tonight.

I decided to take on Friday Mashup challenge #2.  Not so much because of the layout, but because I was intrigued by the suggested color combo of Marina Mist, Cajun Craze and Crumb Cake.  All great colors, but I'm not sure I would have thought to put them together.  I seem to always gravitate to the subtles group, so it was a fun change of pace to take a subtle, a neutral and a regal and play!

Here is the sketch from Friday Mashup that I followed.

Once I decided on how I would use the colors, including a piece of the new Paisley Petals Designer Series Paper (love that stuff!), I then had to figure out what stamped images to use.  As one of my free sets during Sale-A-Bration, I had selected "Happy Together" but I had never used it yet.  I'd been thinking a lot about those little birdies and how I could use them.  And as you can see, I turned the whole design sideways.  Here's what I came up with.  What do you think?

I even gave the inside some love.  I always feel like a dark card base needs a lighter interior for the greeting or personal message someone will add.

I did my usual sponging of edges .. I seem to do that a lot.  I also pulled out the Color Spritzer Tool and my Marina Mist marker to add some small splashes of color.

I did a little sneeky Pete cheat as well.  Most of the entries have included a punched scallop edge of some sort.  But I decided to take the "stem" stamp from Happy Together and stamp at the very edge of the Marina Mist layer.  I thought it looked kind of scallopy (yes, I'm making up words again) without doing any punching.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my little expedition in colors this evening.  I hope everyone has a blessed Easter holiday.

More Wedding Thank You Cards

Well, after my daughter's first shower, even though only 10 people were there, she had to mail 23 thank you cards.  Last weekend, she had two showers and will nearly wipe out the remainder of the 60 thank you cards I already sent her.  So today, I sent her 44 more thank you cards, knowing full well that after the wedding in May, I will probably have to make even more for her!

I made two different designs this time.  The first mimics one I already sent, in that I used the Elegant Lines embossing folder again on the Ballet Blue (retired) cardstock base.  I just used different elements with it.  I only made 20 of these for her.  Love the new Four Frames sneak peek set from the 2011-2012 catalog!

Then I designed another for her, incorporating the Elegance wheel and Curly Cute for the thank you.  And lots of edge sponging!  I made 24 of these for her.  Thank heavens for my Xyron machines!

Now I need to get some Easter cards made this weekend so I can get them in the mail Monday.  Nothing like a little procrastination!  Have a great weekend and happy stamping!

Three-in-One Challenge Card

Good morning everyone!

I've been having such fun trying to follow all the great blogs.  Man, how I would like to pick some of your brains on your blog designs!

In the process, I've discovered some really fun "weekly challenge" blogs (Mojo Monday, Friday Mash Up, A La Card Monkey, Hand Stamped Sentiments, and Scrapmaster Paradise/SPCC).  What a great way to stir my creativity and get me crafting.  So today, I'm posting a card I made last night that answers to three different challenges!  Not sure if that's over achieving or being efficient!

Here's the design sketch posted by Mojo Monday that I'm following.  (check out their site at http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/)

Here's my interpretation of the layout.

A La Card Monkey posted their weekly challenge of a "nature" card.  Enter Mr. Bunny and his flowers!  (check out their site at http://alacardmonkey.blogspot.com/ ... I can't figure out how to get their "badge" on my blog yet but I'll copy it here!)  They are giving away a HUGE basket of stuff for the winner!

Scrapmasters Paradise/SPCC posted their color challenge of using Very Vanilla, Basic Grey and Pretty in Pink.  I threw in some Rose Red just for good measure!  (check out their blog at http://spcolorcombos.thescrapmaster.com/2011/04/spcc94.html)

Hope you enjoy my card!  And I hope everyone checks out the fun blogs I've mentioned and joins in on all the creativity!
