Scrapbooking Extravaganza

Happy Friday Everyone!

I know you've heard me talk about online auctions that I'm involved in before.  But seriously!?!?!!  If you are a paper crafter or mixed media artist, you really need to join us this evening on Tophatter.

My friend Julie of Js Crafty Studio is hosting this fabulous auction.  And man oh man, do we have the stuff for you!  Paper, stickers, bling, washi tape, die cuts, finished items, kits, fibers, embellishments, rubber stamps and more!  Wootie woot woot!

Here's the link to take you directly to the auction:

The auction starts officially at 7pm CST, but the doors open at 6pm for standby shopping.  If you've never attended a Tophatter auction, we have items direct scheduled into upcoming, and then many, many more in standby.  If you see something you like in standby, you simply place the minimum bid to bring it out into the upcoming lots to be auctioned.  Super simple!  And fun!

I hope to see you this evening.  And be sure to pass the words to your crafty friends who would love this auction also!!

Crafty Addictions and Other Ramblings

Happy Monday Everyone!

What is it about craft supplies that draw us in?  You know what I mean.  It's shiny/pretty/sparkly/cool/new/neat/just gotta have it.....and before you know it, you own it.  And then we decide it's so "special" that we don't want to use it and end up with a light case of hoarder's disease!

It was bad enough when I became a stamper and paper crafter.  I now have almost filled my entire craft room with "stuff" to feed that addiction.  But now, to make matters worse, I gave in to the itch to dive into jewelry making.  All those pretty beads kept calling me....luring me in with their pretty colors and sparkling demeanor.  And now I'm hooked.  Heaven help me.

I look at everything differently now.  My husband and I like to go to auctions.  I used to only look for depression era glass items that I "couldn't live without."  Yes----that's another area I need help in.  But I digress....

Saturday night we went to an auction, and do you know what I went primarily to bid on and win?  This:

While many people would look at this and see junk, I see pretty vintage beads and findings that I can (hopefully) repurpose into something amazing.  And, as a bonus, there are several old watches in each jar that I suspect anyone who does steampunk will want to buy from me.  Squeeeeeeel!  The joy of it all!

I confess.  I have a crafting problem.  Anyone with me???

Speaking of auctions, please check out my new page here on the blog dedicated to the different online auction sites I sell on.  You really should check it out.  It's loads of fun!

Online Stores

Happy Saturday Everyone!

I was doing a little research this morning about various online selling venues and came across this article.  It compares various sites to Etsy, which I think we are all familiar with.  I like Etsy, and you can't beat the amount of traffic that flows to that site (whether or not it flows to your specific shop), but I do sometimes get tired of paying 20 cents for every listing.

Is anyone out there using something different (or in addition to) than Etsy?  What site are you using?  What fees do they charge?  How is the traffic flow to the site?

Please comment and let me know your thoughts.  I'm sure others are interested in this information also.

And hopefully now that February is over, I can get things back on track and start posting more regularly.  For some reason the past couple of months have been weird, and we had to take a long road trip out to Yuma to see my mom.  Goodness, we drove through some horrible winds and dust storms on the way back!  One of the first orders of business when we got home was to wash all that horrible dirt and grime off our pretty car.

All pretty and shiny again!

Have a wonderful weekend!
