WOYWW 246 and Making a Movie

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

I've nearly missed posting today.  Goodness, how the time gets away from a person sometimes!  Anyway, it's that time of the week when we bebop around the globe looking at the desks of other creative souls.  This is all courtesy of Julia and Stamping Ground.  Be sure you pop over there and check it out.

Not a lot happening on my desk today.  These are the remnants of my session yesterday with a brayer.  I worked on a birthday card for my mom and took pictures all along the way.  I'm venturing into the world of how to "videos" but I don't have a video camera.  So I'm doing still photos and I'll voice over them.  Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I'd be putting content on You Tube!

This is my finished project.  I'm really pleased with how it came out.  Love how the silhouetted flowers just pop on that background.

If you'd like to take a peek at my video and give me a critique, I would love that!  Here's the video:

WOYWW 245 and Copic Marker Storage

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

It's time for our weekly trip visiting other creative desks around the world wide web courtesy of Julia at Stamping Ground.  Be sure you bebop over there and check it out!

Nothing crafty on my desk at the moment, however you should have seen it yesterday!  It was covered with all sorts of jewelry making paraphernalia!  Ooo, that's a fun word!

Today, however, it's more sedate.  I am new to the world of Copic marker owners, and I'm getting ready to order a few more markers.  So I drug out all of my information, charts and other notes to decide what new colors I want to order.
Hopefully I'll be coloring in more blocks on my chart pretty soon!

I've looked at lots of storage solutions that people have for their Copics.  Since I plan to keep adding to my collection, albeit slowly, I was looking for something expandable and cheap budget-friendly!  I already had this little Sterlite three draw mini unit below.  It was housing most of the adhesives I use on a regular basis.  Well, it turns out that the drawers are the perfect size for markers!  So I relocated the adhesives so the markers could move in.  Knowing these units are still made, I thought this was the perfect solution, as I could simply add additional sets of drawers as needed.  I was at my least favorite store in the world the other day (read Wal Mart) and picked up a set.  Well, imagine my surprise when taking these pictures to find out that the construction of these units has changed over time and my two sets of drawers will not lock together!  Drat!

See below how the tops are different?  The older one is on the left, and the unit I just purchased is on the right.  There is no way they will stay securely stacked together.  Good thing they aren't expensive so I can just pick up another set when I'm at Wal Mart.  I guess the older set will be relocated and repurposed somewhere in my craft room!

Anyway, I think I've narrowed my Copic order down to 20 new markers.  It's so hard to figure out which ones to buy.  I thought about being even more frugal and order the Ciao's instead of the Sketch style, but I just don't think I would like not having the numbers/names on the ends of the markers.  So I will pay a little more and get the Sketch style.

Please leave a comment and let me know if you use Copics, what style, and how you store them.

WOYWW 244 / Jewelry Fun

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

It's time for our weekly WOYWW trip to see creative desks courtesy of Julia at Stamping Ground.  Be sure to pop over there and check it out!

When I got brave and ventured into jewelry making last year, I immediately fell in love with making cute and quick earrings.  Of course, now I have so many pairs that I need to sell that I feel guilty when I make more.  Has that stopped me from making more?  Of course not!

The state of my desk today.

Gorgeous orchid stardust pearls and lucite flowers.  I just love these!

Vintage looking antique bronze butterfly connectors and Astral Pink Swarosvki rounds.  So pretty.

More stardust pearls.  Did I mention I love these???
I'm making sweet and simple stretch bracelets to go with these pretty little earrings.

I know many of you also sell your wares online.  What is your best selling strategy and which social media outlet do you have the best luck with?  Please comment below and let me know.
