Cleaning Up To Make A Mess / WOYWW 273

It seems I'm in a perpetual state of needing to clean off my craft table so I can create something else -- most notably, another mess.  I'm sure I'm not the only crafter with that disease.  I find if I clean up my craft space and it stays that way for very long, then I go on a self-induced guilt trip that I'm not actively using all my supplies and gadgets.  Yes, it's a never ending cycle!

So why am I sharing pictures of my work space today?  Well, because it's time for the weekly WOYWW, my dear reader!  Not sure what that is?  Take a little hop over to Stamping Ground where Ms. Julia does a great job explaining.  It's so much fun bopping around the blogosphere to see what everyone is up to in their creative spaces.

Here is the calm before the next storm:

I'm gearing up to make some stretchy bracelets.  These are the two styles I'll be making.

Overall, I'm getting ready for Fall craft show season.  There is a local place that has a craft/flea market two weekends a month September through December and February through May.  I participated in April and May this year with wildly different outcomes.  I'm hoping by doing October through December, folks will be more in the mind of buying gift items and I'll do better.  Why not September, you ask?  This market is held in a barn.  I live in the Houston area.  It's still too blasted hot in September to be in a barn with no air conditioning.  When I participated in May, my poor little pudgy self overheated and I had a horrible headache the whole day.  I don't believe I want to duplicate that experience!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Be sure to pop over to Julia's and check out some of the other creatives who have shared their spaces.

Thanks for looking at my blog. I appreciate all the wonderful comments everyone leaves. Happy Crafting!

A Little Crafty Mess / WOYWW 272

My dashboard tells me I haven't published a post since April.  My guilty conscience thought it had been longer than that!  Mercy me, I am ashamed.

It's time for the weekly party hosted by Julia over at Stamping Ground.  If you've never seen it before, it's a worldwide crafty party and we all get to sneak a peek at everyone's crafty space.   Make sure you pop over there and check it out.  It's loads of fun.

My desk looks pretty bad.  The sad part is, this is halfway through a clean up effort.  Yesterday it was covered with much more jewelry making paraphernalia.  And don't even get me started about how bad the floor looks!  Eeeek!

I've been on a kick of designing my own bottle cap images and making some necklaces.  My poor Ott light is even presently doing double duty as a necklace holder.

Just a little sampling of some of the necklaces I've made so far.

I'm starting to gear up for Fall craft shows.  I have a local place that has craft fair/flea markets two weekends per month.  They will be starting up again in September.  I won't participate then because it will still be too hot for me in their barn then.  I'm aiming for the mid-October show and going through December.  I'm hoping with it then being closer to holiday shopping time, I'll have a better result.  I'm even thinking about having all of my offerings be $5 each, regardless of whether it's jewelry or some of my paper crafty items.  What do you all think of that?  Pricing is such a difficult thing.  Some folks say if you price too low, people think that is reflective of the quality.  On the other hand, if you price too high and no one buys, does it even matter what they think of your quality?  It's a constant dilemma.  Chime in and let me know what you think!
