Lost Time / #WOIW / Sunday Sentiments

Happy Thursday Everyone!

I hope your week is going well.  Today I have a card to share with you.

Over at the Kraafters Kommunity on Google +, Heather is giving us a weekly word on Wednesdays to inspire our creativity.  It began the first week of October, but this is the first one I've participated with.  The word this week was time.

Somewhere recently I stumbled upon this quote by Benjamin Franklin:  "Time lost is never found again."  For some reason, this resonated with me and I immediately scribbled it on a sticky note and have been looking at it for at least a week.  You hear people say it frequently -- I just don't have time -- There aren't enough hours in the day -- If only I could fit that in my schedule.  I know I'm certainly guilty of uttering similar phrases.

The truth of the matter is, we all have the same 24 hours each and every day.  We DO have time.  Perhaps we just don't budget our time well.  Those minutes and hours I spend on Facebook playing silly games is very definitely time lost that will never be found again.  The minutes and hours spent on Pinterest, YouTube, on {insert the time stealer of your choice} will never be regained.  Can I get a witness???

So here is the card that was inspired by the quote.  I am also linking this up with Zsuzsa's Sunday Sentiments linky party over at Inky Dinky Doodle.  Make sure you go over there and check out her beautiful blog and the other entries.

I have never ever used my own handwriting on a project before.  This is a definite leap out of my comfort zone.

Gorgeous tag/bookmark that I recently received in a RAK haul.  I added a little bit of shimmer mist and some silver ribbon.
I added a bit of pink spritz on the sentiment and card base to pull in the pink of that beautiful rose.
I only adhered the verse on the right side and bottom edge so that the recipient
could remove the tag and use it however they wanted to.

So how is your 24 hours going today??  Let me know in the comments below.

Amazing RAK Haul / WOYWW 281

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

It's that special time of the week where we go wildly bopping about the internet to have a look at the crafty desks of other artistic souls.  This fun journey is courtesy of Miss Julia at Stamping Ground.  Be sure you pop over there and check it out!

Here is the state of my craft desk this morning.

I was getting set up and ready to film a video this morning.  I have recently joined a fun Facebook page called Junk Journal Junkies.  They did a RAK give away a week or so ago and I somehow managed to win!  Yay, me!  I still am in shock that a)  I won, and b) the amount of stuff they crammed in the Heidi Swapp file box!  Check out my video showing all the delicious stuff I got!  It's ok....you can be jealous.

Glittered Christmas Ornaments / WOYWW 278

Happy Wednesday Everyone!  Happy first day of October!

Here in south Texas when the first of October rolls around, we begin to have hope that our 90 degree days might possibly be done.  Granted that is wishful thinking some years, but it's where my mind goes anyway!

Fall has always been one of my favorite seasons.  The air gets crisp and it seems the sky gets more blue.  Apple season is in full swing, and when my kids were in school, it meant marching band competitions in Missouri apple country.  We would always stop on our way home and get some lovely, juicy and BIG apples.  I miss that.  I would also think about planting bulbs at this time when I lived up north.  Down here....nope.  Spring blooming bulbs are a waste of time as the ground never gets cold enough for them to do their thing.  Sad, sad, sad.

Here on this first day of October, it's the time of week that many of us hop about the blogosphere having a peek at creative desks around the world.  It's all courtesy of the lovely Julia at Stamping Ground.  Make sure you pop over there and check it out.  It's heaps of fun!

Here is the state of my craft desk this morning.  Rather embarrassing.  I've been working on something "new to me" and learning how to cut and apply vinyl using my Silhouette.

These are the fruits of my labor so far.  I'm hoping they will sell at the craft festivals I have booked for October, November and December.  If they do well at the first show, I'll go buy more ornaments to glitter up!   I also have a six pack of the flat round ones (sort of "M&M" shaped).  I think I'll like working with those better as it's a flatter surface and hopefully the vinyl will adhere easier.

I tried to think of "generic" images and words to use, as I didn't want to just show up with personalized ornaments and take orders.  Hopefully, folks will just be enamoured with these and snap them up!  Fingers crossed!

So what's on your work desk today?  Leave me a comment and let me know what you're up to!
