Happy Tuesday Everyone!
It's Tag It Tuesday time. Woot!
This month's theme was to use the Pantone color Buttercup. I thought we'd kick off the new year with a bright, happy color. As I've mentioned before, we'll be focusing on color a lot this year, concentrating on the Spring 2016 Pantone colors.
As always (dang it), I forgot to take process photos. I had the best of intentions...had my camera out and at the ready. As usual, however, I got caught up in what I was doing and forgot to pause now and then to take photos. I did try to pull "still shots" out of my video, but they were so grainy looking, I didn't want to subject you to those. So you'll have to watch my process video for the blow by blow of how this was made.
I began with my standard #5 manilla shipping tag. To start my background, I first sprayed water on the tag, followed by two Dylusions Ink Sprays in lemon zest and squeezed orange. Once those were dry, I did the ghost stencil technique to the tag for some "texture." This should come as no surprise.....my next step was to pull out my favorite bubbles stencil along with some pale yellow and metallic craft paint.
My next step was to stamp a fun doodle flower image and stem with Archival Ink in jet black. Once dry, I began painting the flower with a combination of craft and metallic paint, as well as Silks Acrylic Glazes. Because I obscured a few of my stamped lines with the painting, I went back over them with a PITT artist pen, as well as adding some black and white dots for interest.
I gave the tag an all over spritz with Color Bloom Spray in Sorbet. Then I added a squiggly border to finish it off.
Now it's your turn! Make a tag of your choosing, showcasing the Buttercup color and link it up!
Thanks for looking at my blog. I appreciate all the wonderful comments everyone leaves.

Following Blogger Blogs
Happy Tuesday Everyone!
If you follow very many blogs, you know there are numerous way to do that... Friend connect, RSS feeds, email subscription, various blog reader software (feedly, bloglovin, etc). In December, Blogger announced some changes to how folks are going to have to follow Blogger blogs.
Here's an article directly from Blogger explaining the changes:
In 2011, we announced the retirement of Google Friend Connect for all non-Blogger sites. We made an exception for Blogger to give readers an easy way to follow blogs using a variety of accounts. Yet over time, we’ve seen that most people sign into Friend Connect with a Google Account. So, in an effort to streamline, in the next few weeks we’ll be making some changes that will eventually require readers to have a Google Account to sign into Friend Connect and follow blogs.
We know how important followers are to all bloggers, but we believe this change will improve the experience for both you and your readers.

So, long story short....if you follow my blog (or any Blogger blog) anyway other than through a Google account, you're going to lose that feed. As the article states, I highly encourage you to open a Google account if you don't already have one, and then re-follow my blog. Once Blogger makes their changes over the next week or so, your other feed will then stop.

As part of this plan, starting the week of January 11, we’ll remove the ability for people with Twitter, Yahoo, Orkut or other OpenId providers to sign in to Google Friend Connect and follow blogs. At the same time, we’ll remove non-Google Account profiles so you may see a decrease in your blog follower count.
We encourage you to tell affected readers (perhaps via a blog post), that if they use a non-Google Account to follow your blog, they need to sign up for a Google Account, and re-follow your blog. With a Google Account, they’ll get blogs added to their Reading List, making it easier for them to see the latest posts and activity of the blogs they follow.
We know how important followers are to all bloggers, but we believe this change will improve the experience for both you and your readers.

Tag It Tuesday Theme for January 2016
Happy Tuesday Everyone!
How is your new year going? If yours is the same old same old, then we're in the same club!
Today it's time to announce the monthly theme for Tag It Tuesday. As I told you in this post, I'm going to focus more on color this year. So for January, we're starting off with a bright spot and using BUTTERCUP as our focus color.
Yellow falls into the "warm colors" category. Warm colors include shades of red, orange and yellow. They are called warm colors because they conjur up a feeling of sunlight and fire, or things that are warm. When using these colors in your projects, they tend to give energy or be uplifting. For many people, they imply feelings of passion or positivity. So for the first month of the new year, I thought Buttercup might be an appropriate place to start -- to pump us up and get going after a hectic holiday season!
Are there any rules to Tag It Tuesday? Rules, schmules! Simply make an altered tag. You pick the size, shape and material. All I ask is that you incorporate the monthly theme and link it up on the third Tuesday of the month. Use whatever materials you want to. Paint, paper, ink, emphemera....you get the idea. The most important thing? To have FUN, of course!
Here's some color inspiration for you.
