Friday Mash Up #22 Gate Fold Card

Hi Everyone!

Hope you all had a safe and enjoyable Labor Day weekend.  We did, all the while warily watching the news about all of the wildfires that are not too terribly far away.  We are certainly praying for rain here in Texas!

This week's Friday Mashup Challenge was to create a gate fold card or a card with numbers, or mash up the both!  Well, I couldn't quite wrap my head around the numbers thing, but I did play around with a gate fold card.  Here is what I came up with.

I used some of my "fall" shaving cream cardstock I made recently.  For the tree image, I used "Lovely As A Tree" and the poppin' pastels technique.  The focal image and the card base is natural ivory cardstock, and the tree is then mounted on More Mustard and Old Olive (two of my all-time favorite colors).

Maybe if I keep playing with these fall colors, I can convince myself fall might actually be coming!  The fact that I now think 90 degrees is "cool" is just wrong!  However, low 90's beats the tar out of low 100's!  I guess it's all a matter of perspective!

Stay cool and enjoy your stamping!

Thanks for looking at my blog. I appreciate all the wonderful comments everyone leaves. Happy Stamping!

  1. WOW this came out great! I love how those pastels really look soft on that tree, the coloring is spot on. What a great idea to make a few sheets of the card stock with that technique to have for future projects. I'm with ya ready for fall to come any time now! We actually had a very cool day here, first in a long time. Thanks for joining us at the Friday Mashup!

  2. Hi Sheri, you've used one of my favourite techniques, shaving cream can give you some amazing effects, this looks fabulous. The colours go really well with the tree image you've used as well. Great to see you playing along with us at the Friday Mashup.

  4. This is so pretty! I love the DSP you made and that tree is one of my favorites!

I have friends in the San Antonio area and I've been keeping an eye on the fires there. That Bastrop one is just horrible! Stay safe!
