The Open Sea

It seems it's always a struggle to come up with "masculine" cards.  That's why I was so excited to see "The Open Sea" and coordinating Designer Series Paper in the Summer Mini catalog.  This is the first time I've gotten around to playing with this set, and I really do like it.

I made this a birthday card, but it really could be used for a host of occasions.  I made several of these and will be sending my extras to From Our Hearts.  (See the button above right.)

I thought the edge sponging and splatters helped give it an "aged" feel.  And besides, I can't hardly make a card without any sponging!

You can still purchase this set and coordinating papers through the end of August.  Don't miss out!

Thanks for looking at my blog. I appreciate all the wonderful comments everyone leaves. Happy Stamping!

Father's Day

Here's hoping everyone had a great Father's Day.  I took my wonderful husband out for brunch, and we just enjoyed the rest of the day relaxing together.  Both of our girls gave him a call, which he appreciated.  Father's Day is mixture of happy and sad, since I'm not able to wish my own father a Happy Father's Day anymore.  But I can remember years of fun, and lots of black jelly beans!  Yuck!  But Daddy loved them!

Here is a card my best friend, Amy, asked me to make for her father.  Loads of Love is such a fun, versatile set.  I'm so glad it made it into the the new catalog again!

A month of weddings and now back to "normal"

Wow, I have really been absent from my blog.  As some of you may recall, my daughter got married in May.  I made all of her invitations and thank you cards.  Boy, was I glad when that was done!  The wedding was stressful, but everything went well.

Here is my beautiful daughter and her gorgeous dress.

Right after we got home from her wedding, my nephew got married as well.  I decided to use my new Top Note die and the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folding and have a little fun with some discontinued colors of cardstock.  Here's what I came up with.

I raised the central image with Dimensionals to give it added emphasis.

Had I known their theme and colors, I would have spiced it up a bit.  Check out their wedding cake topper!!

Anyway, things are more back to normal now.  I'm so excited to see some of the sneek peeks at the upcoming Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog.  I look forward to sharing more projects with you!
