WOYWW 149 and The Friday Mashup 53

It's time for another hop around the globe to browse at crafty desks everywhere, courtesy of Julia.

Just the usual card crafty catastrophe going on in my neck of the woods!

And all the craftiness -- or at least a good chunk of it -- was to make a card for the weekly challenge over at The Friday Mash Up!  It's a fun challenge this week to combine a fancy fold card with a Tic Tac Toe smorgasbord of items.  I chose to try my hand at the Joy Fold card from a tutorial at Split Coast Stampers.  Super fun, and pretty easy, too.  I got a bit carried away with layers of designer paper I think, but that's the way it goes.  And for my Tic Tac Toe items, I chose flowers, ribbon and neutrals.

I used some of my stash of what I think is some of the yummiest designer series paper Stampin' Up! has ever put out there -- Spice Cake.  Such a shame it had a limited run!!  I probably could have added more embellishments, but the card was getting a bit thick as it was.  So I decided to stop while I was ahead.

I hope you all take time to visit the other crafty desks around the world, as well as pop over to The Friday Mash Up and see the other wonderful designs!  Safe hopping!!

Thanks for looking at my blog. I appreciate all the wonderful comments everyone leaves. Happy Stamping!

  10. Looks familiar..I can easily do that to make one card...and it takes me ages and ages to clear it up too, bet you're more disciplined than that! The Joy fold card is pretty - and no, I see no over use of DP..can't really have such a thing!

  19. I like your crafty space and your card is to die for. Once I read you were doing a joy fold, I had to ponder what that was for awhile before scrolling down. I knew I knew what that was! I do love all those papers and colors you used in your card. It is a shame that paper didn't stick around long. Thanks for reminding me to check with my SU Rep about my recent order!

  20. Thanks for asking! I like Minnesota a lot. I've lived here for over 30 years. I lived in Colorado for 14 years and Texas for 10 years. I think I prefer Minnesota's weather. The heat in Texas is something I can't get used to anymore. Our summers are so pleasant and you can spend lots of time outdoors. I love to hibernate in the winter and read and do art, so I don't mind the cold. Missouri is beautiful! My hubby and I drove through the west edge last May when we drove down to Texas to see my parents!
I guess we can all bloom wherever we're planted! God bless you and yours!
