The Friday Mashup 61 / Guest Designer

Happy Friday Everyone!

I am super excited to have been chosen as a Guest Designer for the month of June over at The Friday Mashup!  What an honor!

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :
  1. Make a project using " Scraps of Pattern Paper or Ribbons ".
  2. Or Make a " Scrapling ".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a " Scrapling using Scraps of Pattern Paper or Ribbons. ".

A scrapling is a little card, notecard, or tag that you would make out of the scraps that are left from your card stock after making a square card.  What do I mean?  If you started with an A2 card base, 4-1/4 x 5-1/2", and then cut it down to make a 4-1/4" square card, there would be a 1-1/4 x 4-1/4" base left.  That's the starting point for your scrapling.  It could also be 1-1/2 x 4-1/4", if you had made a 4 x 4" square card previously. It is lots of fun to decorate this small space!

I had a little trouble wrapping my head around the scrapling concept and decided to start at the beginning of the instructions and go from there.  So I made a 4 X 4 card, then spent some time looking at that "left over" stuff from the card base.  I decided to cut the folded piece with the new Apothecary Accents Framelits.  I intended to somehow preserve the fold and was going to make a magnetic bookmark.  Alas, the die was smarter than me and I ended up with two lovely little tags and no game plan!  Don't ya love when that happens?!?  I thought about gift tags or individual bookmarks.  But then I remembered seeing Wish Tree tags all over Etsy and decided to make a couple of those.

I used scraps of the Everyday Enchantment (retired) paper to make a quilted herringbone piece that I cut with the Labels Collection Framelits.

More scraps of the paper were punched with the scallop punch and used to make a scrunchy flower.

There's even an Everyday Enchantment brad peeking out from the middle!

My wish for you is to have a fabulous weekend with some time for crafting!  Be sure to pop over to The Friday Mashup, check out the other awesome projects, and enter one of your own!

Thanks for looking at my blog. I appreciate all the wonderful comments everyone leaves. Happy Stamping!
