Throwback Thursday

Happy Thursday Everybody!

Today I'm sharing with you a trio of cards using my old favorite, Nice and Easy Notes.  As I've said before, I just love this set, and really all of the "all occasion" type sets SU comes out with (i.e., Fun & Fast Notes, Sweet & Simple Salutations, and the current Easy Events set) and will probably never part with any of them.

I had stamped up and colored these images quite awhile back and ran across them again on my work desk this weekend.  So I set out to use them, aiming for simple layouts that still had some "pop" to dress them up, while also using some older discontinued cardstock colors.

First up, the blue and pink version.  I experimented with taking these photos outside, and my Ballet Blue card base looks much brighter than it really it!

I jazzed it up a bit using the Eyelet Border punch.  I added a bit of shimmer to the border's edge and the heart on the watering can with my clear Atyou Spica pen (love that thing!)  A couple of basic rhinestones, and she's done!

Next up, my green and yellow version.  I used retired colors of Summer Sun, Gable Green and Green Galore.

Again, I added just enough detail to dress it up with the Eyelet Border punch, a touch of ribbon, and a bit of sparkle on the focal image.

And lastly, the teal version.  I used retired cardstock colors of Taken with Teal, Going Gray, and Ruby Red.

I used my Texturz Plates Backgrounds 1 on the teal layer, but you really can't see it in the picture.  For some reason, I have trouble with those plates.  I think I just don't understand exactly which pieces I'm supposed to use to make my Big Shot "sandwich."  But I digress.....

I again added just enough details to punch up the card (ribbon trim, some Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details, and white gel pen dots).

Well, this was kind of a long post!  Thanks for hanging in there if you made it to the end!!

Thanks for looking at my blog. I appreciate all the wonderful comments everyone leaves. Happy Stamping!
