Throwback Thursday (Mojo Monday #235 and Our Creative Corner)

Happy Thursday Everyone (even though I'm posting this Wednesday evening) !!!!

My card today showcases an old set (Sweet & Simple Salutations) and some wonderful retired SU colors (Sage Shadow and Mint Melody).

Over at Mojo Monday, there is a great sketch this week.  Then I noticed the "How Green is Your Spring" contest at Our Creative Corner.  I decided to combine the two and create a monochromatic card in some lovely, soft greens.

I spritzed the entire card after assembly with Vanilla Smooch Spritz to give it a lovely shimmer.  I had also "colored" the jar with my clear Atyou Spica pen previously.  Guess I didn't need to do that since I spritzed the whole card, huh??  ;)  And the DCWV patterned cardstock already had shimmer as well.  Overkill?  I think not!

I added a little bit of edge sponging, and curled up the ends of my pennant to add some character.

This was my first try at making one of these fun, scrunchy flowers with the scalloped circle punch.  I only used three layers because I didn't want the flower to overpower the entire card.  Can I just say that there will definitely be more of these in my future?  I don't usually like to add thick embellishments to my cards because I want them to be easy to mail for whoever uses them.  But I do love these fun flowers!

Be sure to pop over to both challenge sites and check out the other awesome artwork.  You'll enjoy it!

Thanks for looking at my blog. I appreciate all the wonderful comments everyone leaves. Happy Stamping!

  2. Love this "green" card! Sheri. Great flower and I agree that they are difficult to mail with large embellishments.

  3. So pretty, Sheri! I really like the dimension you added with that pretty flower and the sponged edges really add so much to the card. So beautiful!! Thanks so much for joining us this week at Our Creative Corner! :)
