WOYWW 191

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Yet again, I've been neglecting my blog.  Somewhere the blogger powers that be are threatening me with wet noodle lashings!

So today I jump back on the WOYWW bandwagon!  For those that haven't a clue what I'm talking about, it's a weekly jaunt around the blogosphere to take a peak at creative desks around the world.  This is all courtesy of the amazing Julia at Stamping Ground.  Be sure you pop over there and check it out!

So here was the state of my desk last night.

Not too horrible.  It's definitely been worse, but I definitely need to clean!  And organize!  And put stuff away in general!  I was working on a custom easel desk calendar for a fellow seller on Tophatter.  If you haven't ever checked it out, be sure to pop over and sneak a peak at a couple of auctions.  I sell there, and I'm also branching out over to Outbid.  I look forward to seeing you both places!!

My camera really didn't do the colors on this justice.  My customer asked for purples, blues and greens, so I did the three sides I cover in different prints.  I love the way it turned out and I think I'm going to make one for myself just like it!!

Can you see the blue/green peeking out from inside?

Thanks for looking at my blog. Please leave a comment -- I love reading them. Happy Crafting!

WOYWW 189 and Paper Crafts Auction

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

It's that time of week when we hop around the blogosphere and have a peek at other creative desks.  This is, of course, courtesy of the fabulous Julia at Stamping Ground.  I've been bad about playing along.  But those of you who have peeked at my space before, will immediately recognize this is NOT my normal work area or creative play toys.  You're used to seeing me do paper crafty goodness!

This is, in fact, my dining room table (hence the leftover red table cloth from Christmas that may just continue to make an appearance for who knows how long) covered with jewelry making goodies.

See, during the weekend when my hubby is home, he sometimes takes over my craft room/office using the computer.  During that time, I generally go elsewhere, either the living room or dining with my laptop.  Well, this weekend past I had an urge to drag out all the jewelry paraphernalia and create something!  So off to the dining room I went!

Here's a peek at some of what I've been creating since then.

I created eight different colored version of these.

Six different color versions of this one!

Four different color versions of these!

These are my FAVORITE!

Those those peacock colored beads!

I do need to migrate all that stuff back into my craft room, but for right now, I'm enjoying having stuff all over the house!!!

Speaking of paper crafts (subtle, huh).....
This Saturday evening my friend "Scrapoholic" and I are hosting a paper crafts auction on Tophatter.  You've heard me mention that online auction site before.  But this time you might really want to join us!  At 7pm CST, we are having a paper crafts auction for all sorts of paper crafty goodiness....supplies to feed your habit!  Signing up for Tophatter is super easy, and we always create a really fun atmosphere in our community auctions.  Here is the direct link for our auction and I really hope you join us.  You even have plenty of time to enter stuff to sell if you want.  Perfect chance to destash your hoard of paper stuff!!!  Feel free to email me if you have any questions!

Thanks for looking at my blog. I appreciate all the wonderful comments everyone leaves. Happy Stamping!

Goodies I Forgot To Show You!

I don't think I've posted these before, but please forgive me if I did.

These are some lovely bracelets I made for my daughters for Christmas.  Now that they already have these, I can show them to all of you!!

The first bracelet was made for my oldest daughter.  I used some awesome rhinestone spacer beads and peacock stardust beads that I got from Shana's Etsy store.  Aren't they gorgeous?  And that awesome dragonfly charm?  Well, that came from my friend Rebecca on Tophatter.  This bracelet turned out so lovely, and yet, was very lightweight.

This second bracelet was made for my youngest daughter.  I used a gorgeous assortment of glass pearls in pinks and lavendars.  I also used more of those awesome rhinestone spacers as well as some silver daisy spacers I also got from Shana.  I just love the way this one came out.

Although there isn't a lot of technical jewelry making skills required for these memory wire bracelets, I just love them.  It does help to have an eye for color and composition, and that's where my artsy craftsy self excels, I guess!

Thanks for looking at my blog. I appreciate all the wonderful comments everyone leaves. Happy Stamping!

Here's to an organized New Year!

Happy Saturday Everyone!

I hope you all had a really wonderful holiday season and your new year is off to a tremendous start.

All throughout the land, people are making resolutions for 2013.  I've never been a fan of that, however, this year I am trying to make some changes.  You can find all sorts of organizational challenges for the new year on the internet, such as A Bowl Full of Lemons.  There's a plethora of great information out there.

As my online business continues to pick up (Etsy and Tophatter), I want to be sure I'm more organized and operating like a "real" business.  I want to be more deliberate and scheduled about the things I'm doing, rather that just winging it!

So today, the purge and clean was on and this was mid-mess creation/deletion:

I think there's a desk surface under there somewhere!!

Whew!  This looks better and more functional!  You should see the big ole bag of trash I generated!!

I cleared off this little cart, where I used to pile bills to be paid and a spiral notebook where I kept a running ticker of that, no to mention other assorted junk important stuff.  All of the bill stuff has been put in a 3 ring binder now.

This little basket is my "shipping basket."  It's been sitting on the floor, and constantly getting moved around.  I have in here my receipt book, cello bags and organza bags for packaging, ribbon to make it look pretty, packing tape and little freebies I include with all orders.

I made these little boxes for something -- don't remember what -- and they've just been sitting around.  Now one has a little assortment of washi tape I use to pretty up my little packages, and the other has an assortment of tags that I either use or include as a "gift" with my orders.

The next major area that needs attention is the closet.  It's not necessarily that it is unorganized, but that there is a lot of stuff in there I never touch or use.  Especially books and reference materials.  I need to sort through those in merciless fashion!

This little shelf next to the closet isn't in bad shape.  The wicker baskets house retired stamp sets, and the two tier basket on top was used in the craft mall display I had.  The wicker baskets in each of its tiers hold various completed paper projects that I'm either selling or using as free gifts with shipments.

This area of Jet Max cubes most of you have seen pictures of before.  Not much has changed there, except I added the plastic drawers units on top of the center section (they were elsewhere in my room), and I had to make room for my new Cricut machine.  It's not the best or biggest spot for it, but it's all I could spare for surface space right now.

Ok, so maybe there's one other spot the needs a little attention!  My poor work desk has stuff all over it at the moment.  Plus, I had pulled out all of my stamp sets that had hearts or anything remotely Valentine related and they are currently sitting on the floor.  Yes...it needs help over here.

So what does your new year look like?  What organizational things work for you?  I would love for you to leave me your comments/ideas/suggestions!  Thanks for popping in today!
