Tag It Tuesday May 2016 Linky Party

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

It's time for our monthly link up party for Tag It Tuesday!  Woot!!

This month's theme was to use primary colors (red, yellow and blue) and some basic shapes (circles, squares, triangles and such).  I wasn't sure how I was going to embrace this challenge and keep true to the colors.  I admit I'm more of a pastels kinda gal, so working with primary colors is not a first choice for me.

I started with my usual number 5 manila shipping tags.  Then I broke out some of my circle making "tools" and VersaMark ink.  After stamping these, I embossed them with clear embossing powder.  Then, using three colors of Distress Inks applied directly to my craft mat, I set about making my primary colored background, being sure to dry the tag in between swipes into the inks.

I then added some additional circles and squares using a combination of plastic canvas and my ever-present bubbles stencil!

For added interest, I use a Gelly Pen and a PITT pen to add details in and around the squares and circles.

To "frame" the tag, I took my Distress Ink in Faded Jeans and inked the edges.

I added some white splatters, stamped a sentiment, and backed the whole tag with some pretty mustard card stock.

To see the whole process from start to finish, here's my video of this project.

Now it's your turn to link up your tag.  Be sure to visit the other participants and leave them some blog love as well!

Thanks for looking at my blog. I appreciate all the wonderful comments everyone leaves. Happy Crafting!
