Throwback Thursday and The Paper Players #80

Happy Thursday Everyone!

My Throwback Thursday card features an old two-step stampin' set called Definitely Decorative Daisy.  Two-step stampin' has always been one of my favorite techniques for a quick result that looks like you spent much more time.

For this card, I used the current sketch challenge at The Paper Players.  Be sure you hop over there and check out all of the other great cards.

Besides the retired stamp set, I also used retired cardstock and ink colors of Cameo Coral, Ruby Red, Mint Medley, Summer Sun, and some retired So Saffron Ribbon.  For the fake DSP layer, I cut some leaves with the Sizzix Little Leaves Sizzlit.  I ran those through my Xyron sticker maker and then attached them to the Cameo Coral layer.  I then ran that entire sheet through the Square Lattice embossing folder.  I've seen this applique/fabric looking technique all over the internet, but had never tried it.  I'm pretty pleased with my result.

Mr. Bumblebee has a little sparkle added to his wings for fun.

While playing with our latest and greatest tools, stamps and stash is always great fun, don't forget those "Old Faithful" things you've kept because you love them!

Thanks for looking at my blog. I appreciate all the wonderful comments everyone leaves. Happy Stamping!
