Crafty Addictions and Other Ramblings

Happy Monday Everyone!

What is it about craft supplies that draw us in?  You know what I mean.  It's shiny/pretty/sparkly/cool/new/neat/just gotta have it.....and before you know it, you own it.  And then we decide it's so "special" that we don't want to use it and end up with a light case of hoarder's disease!

It was bad enough when I became a stamper and paper crafter.  I now have almost filled my entire craft room with "stuff" to feed that addiction.  But now, to make matters worse, I gave in to the itch to dive into jewelry making.  All those pretty beads kept calling me....luring me in with their pretty colors and sparkling demeanor.  And now I'm hooked.  Heaven help me.

I look at everything differently now.  My husband and I like to go to auctions.  I used to only look for depression era glass items that I "couldn't live without."  Yes----that's another area I need help in.  But I digress....

Saturday night we went to an auction, and do you know what I went primarily to bid on and win?  This:

While many people would look at this and see junk, I see pretty vintage beads and findings that I can (hopefully) repurpose into something amazing.  And, as a bonus, there are several old watches in each jar that I suspect anyone who does steampunk will want to buy from me.  Squeeeeeeel!  The joy of it all!

I confess.  I have a crafting problem.  Anyone with me???

Speaking of auctions, please check out my new page here on the blog dedicated to the different online auction sites I sell on.  You really should check it out.  It's loads of fun!

Thanks for looking at my blog. I appreciate all the wonderful comments everyone leaves. Happy Crafting!

  1. Yes Sheri, I'm with you. I just gave my daughter a pile of papers and embellishments out of my stash so she can scrap her wedding photos. Guess what? I can't see where they are missing from! I think that tells me I'm hoarding or stashing way too much stash! LOL

    Cheers,
    Kasey
